DR DEBORAH IERA
DR DEBORAH IERA DDS, FRCD(C), M.Sc.
Dr Deborah Iera completed her Dental degree at McGill University in 1997. She subsequently did a Dental residency program at the Royal Victoria Hospital. She obtained her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) degree at McGill University in 2002, followed by a Master’s of Science. In order to practice full scope OMFS for both adult and pediatric patients, she obtained a fellowship in pediatric OMFS at the University of Toronto, Sick Kids Hospital.
Dr Iera has practiced full scope OMFS at the MUHC with a focus on orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, cleft surgery and pathologies for both adult and pediatric patients. She is currently in private practice in downtown Montreal, where she performs all types of dentoalveolar surgeries, including implantology.
Teaching and mentoring has been a true vocation for Dr Iera since graduation. She continues to teach at McGill university and is also Undergraduate OMFS Program Director.
On her free time, she loves to dance, travel, read, and spend time with family and friends.
DR FRANCOIS J. RIENDEAU
DR FRANCOIS J. RIENDEAUDDS, M.Sc.
Dr. François Riendeau received both his Dental Degree and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Master’s Degree from McGill University in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He also completed a multidisciplinary residency at the Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital in 1984.
Being one of the rare practitioners in Canada to be trained by Dr. P. R. Brånemark in the installation of the first implants for maxillofacial and cranial reconstruction, he became active nationally and internationally in clinical research to advance the science of implantology.
In 1987, Dr. Riendeau founded Cliniques Trium in Pointe-Claire (with the Snoring Clinic) and Longueuil, which he left in 2010 to open clinics in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Candiac.
His teaching commitments included continuing dental education for dentists in private practice and post graduate students in OMFS at McGill University.
His philanthropy and social involvement can be seen in his professional activities. As the first president of the Ken Bentley Fund (Fund for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Research and Continuing Education – KCB-FORCE) since it was created in 2003, Dr. Riendeau set up a council and has been involved in a number of fundraisers for oral and maxillofacial surgery research from 2003 to 2007. Thanks to these fundraisers, there has been advancements in research which ultimately has helped the general public benefit from cutting-edge treatments.
On his free time, Dr Riendeau keeps active cycling, travelling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
